Project Life Week 12 (April LPS Colour Challenge)

Today is the day I can finally reveal my Week 12 of Project Life!!

WOO HOO

I've had this layout ready to go since last week and have been eager to share it with you, BUT I had to wait until today as I have made it for this months Colour Challenge over at Life. Paper. Scrapbook.

The winner of this months challenge will receive a place in the Mix it up with Amy Tan Workshop
Details from the Two Peas in a Bucket WEBSITE
Globetrotting fashion and scrapbook designer Amy Tan not only loves to mix up the undertakings of her never-boring career and the scenery through her lens, but her scrapbook pages and projects! In this mini workshop, Amy will teach you how to keep your creativity fresh and exciting by mixing up your supplies, photos and projects. With her eclectic and colorful style, mixer-upper-expert Amy will equip you with:

• 3 Chapters showcasing 25+ layouts
• 30 Mix formulas for your pages and photos
• 25+ minutes of video including tutorials and insights from Amy
• 48 helpful PDF pages that include tips and an in-depth look at each layout and project.
• Bonus cut files, a project planner worksheet + more!

Amy's carefree and relaxed approach to creating is contagious; you'll feel as though you're scrapbooking right alongside with her in her living room (with her beloved Buster and Bamboo at your feet!). Create perfectly-embellished layouts you love when you use Amy’s tips for mixing up your supplies. Give your layouts an unexpected twist when you vary the photos you capture. And finally, prevent creative ruts by changing up the projects you tackle. Follow Amy Tan’s lead and get ready to mix it up!

Now onto my layout...
This was the colour palette we were given to use

And the layout I've created :)

I have used the April kit from A Piece of Cake designs for this layout. The colour combo of papers and embellishments worked well for this Challenge.

Ive gone back to basics with this weeks layout using Design A page protectors. Weeks flow better this way for me, so I think I will stick to this and use the many other designs for extra inserts between the weekly pages. As usual we had a pretty quiet week, so most photos are of Leila! Crazy Hair which needed a cut, and nap times are still in force since their return recently! The Keep Calm quote was from somewhere I can't remember! Would love a notes section on the iPad that was attached to photos so I could remember where I screen shot things from!

LOVING this kit and all the extras it contained. The journalling cards are all pretty cool. So hard to choose which ones I wanted to use!
It was a busy end to the week with work on a weekend.. doesn't happen often for men but was a nice change.  There is a midweek insert to add in - once I finish it - that documents Leila's first haircut!!! She doesn't really have that much hair to warrant a proper cut, but it was getting so messy that it needed a tidy up! Oh and the ring was a spur of the moment, caught my eye, must try that on type of moment. No questions have been asked as yet lol

I didn't really add much else from my stash other than the black SMASH tape, Red alphas, Wood veneer arrows & heart, a Cherry Flair from A piece of Cake designs and the COFFEE DATE stamp from Give a Girl a...

Head on over to the Life. Paper. Scrapbook blog to see what the other talented ladies have created! You won't be disappointed.

Give a Girl a.. Guest Designer

The super awesome Kellie over at Give a Girl a blog has asked me to stay on as Guest designer for April! How can you say no to that!!!

So today I'm sharing some mini layouts I whipped up of my little furry friends to showcase the 'My Buddy' set. This set is available now over in Kellie's shop

As you can see these stamps are fantastic for dog and cat lovers, but there are a couple that are versatile enough to use for non animal scrapping.

First layout I'm sharing with you is a photo of our furry little man. He's so cute, and so much fun! And will always pose for a photo or 10!
Ive used the 'You had me at Woof', 'Dogs rule' and 'My buddy' stamps. I stamped them onto individual scraps I had from a PL layout and adhered in layers with foam tape and normal adhesive tape. Ive also inked around the edges of the scraps and the entire layout, but its hard to see with the background its laying on.

The second layout is a photo of Leila being destructive and trying to blame a sleeping Bella. Bella is a very happy dog who doesn't seem to stay still, so its quite hard to catch her for photos unless she is sleeping!
Again I have stamped 'I didn't do it' and 'It was the dog' onto scraps and stuck that on top of glitter tape with some foam tape. I also gave the red paper a distressed look with a pair of blunt fabric scissors. This layout  shows that you can use the stamps for general use with children and animals hehe.

Absolutely Love Kellies stamps! And I have more to share over the next couple of weeks!!

All papers used were from a soon to be released kit over at A Piece of Cake Designs

Currently Creative

Realised today I haven't done a currently creative post for a few weeks..
So I thought I would share what is currently on my messy table.

Its my Week 12 of Project Life!! I can't share the full layout until late next week as its for the next Colour Challenge for Life Paper Scrapbook AND I've used the April kit for A Piece of Cake designs (which is yet to be released) So for now you will just have to make do with this sneak peek! (The veneer, red alphas and cherry flair are not part of the Kit)

Cant wait to share the full layout! Now its time to get back to week 13..

Project Life Week 11..

2 weeks of Project life posted in the space of a few days!! I'm finally getting somewhere in this catching up business!

This weeks layout came together super easy with the help of a Fabulous Mini Kit from Polka Dot Creative. The kit was jam packed with enough paper and embellishments that I used the entire package and only needed to add in a couple of extra bits and pieces! Fantastic Value!! Lots of Aussie product squeezed into this kit from A Piece of Cake Designs, Give a Girl a AND Documenting Chaos..

This is what was included in the kit  (photo courtesy of PDC)

And this is what I made with it
Although I seem to have covered the layout with photos, they actually only happened to be from 2-3 days in that week lol I was crazy busy cultivating a good life that i forgot to record it! I did manage to get a few photos while we were outside playing on one of the (more than a week long) hot days. Some screen shots from instagram, the weather after the cool change came through and a few pics from the meet up in Melbourne when Caz came over for a holiday. Was a lovely breakfast meeting up with new friends. Cant wait to do it again soon!!

A close up of the Left side
Love the handmade confetti pocket that Jodie made for the kits!! Was a perfect addition to my simple title card. Ive added in some extra SN@P letters, SMASH label tape, doily and a cute Camera veneer that was in my stash from a friend. Everything else you see in the layout was all part of the kit from PDC, including the glassine bag that I have stamped on (bottom left) It contains some journaling for that photo. As you can see I was a tad excited that Leila has started having naps during that day again! Even if it is snuggled up on my lap I don't mind.

And the Right side
All of these photos are just from the 1 day! I added in some extra SN@P papers and a journalling card from my stash on this side. And I borrowed the HOT HOT HOT photo from one of the lovely ladies in the Project Life Australia Group. Thanks Carolyn xx

Im happy with how its turned out! It all came together so quickly, and everything that was in the kit was used :) If you're after the next months mini kit you better get in quick when they go up for sale as they sell out SUPER FAST!! And a little birdy tells me you will love the next one!!

I hope to be back in the next couple of days with week 12....

Project Life WEEK 10

FINALLY I am getting somewhere with catching up!
I know I haven't shown my week 9 layout yet, but thats because I just can't get it finished lol Nothing is working for me in that week. So I moved onto week 10 and voila.......

(Excuse the glare on the Page protectors, wasn't the best light today)

For this week I have used the contents of the February Card Kit from Studio Calico. Love the colour palette! Had to add a few of my own embellishments as there isn't many in the kit. My journalling for the week is inside the envelope on the date card. Not a lot to say about the weeks events as we didn't get up to much - This was the week after the Melbourne Scrapbook Expo, where I helped out Craft House in showing off Project Life to thousands of new scrappers. The first few days after were pretty quiet but also quite hot in temperature! Start of more than a week of over 30degree days TOO HOT for me!! We enjoyed a few nights outside eating our dinner and playing with the dogs. And celebrated my Nanna's 80th Birthday on the Labour Day weekend.

 (again apologies for glare)
I have used a Design E page protector for this side of the layout and a Design C (available late april/may) for the right hand side. The YOU HAD ME AT "Woof" stamp is part of the 'My Buddy' April set release over at Give a Girl a.. This set is perfect for Cat & Dog owners!! I can't wait to get more use out of it. The Cherry Flairs are all from different sets available at A Piece of Cake designs. LOVE them!

I scrunched up some Vellum to use underneath the photo of my Nanna's cake for a different element to the page.

Other products used in this layout are Scrabble letter thickers from American Crafts, SMASH tape, wood veneer from Studio Calico and Freckled fawn, doilies from my stash and mini blue alpha's from the Feb SC Project Life Kit. I have also used stamps from the Endless Summer set by Give a Girl a

So thats my week 10.. I have photos printed for the next few weeks after that, now to find time to get them done!
